The Cubs have placed starter Tsuyoshi Wada on the 15-day disabled list and activated reliever Neil Ramirez, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The Cubs haven’t made a decision on who will take Wada’s spot in the rotation, but Wittenmyer notes that Donn Roach is still on the active roster, which could mean he will take it.
Wada, 34, made his season debut on May 20. In seven starts, he posted a 3.73 ERA with a 31/11 K/BB ratio in 31 1/3 innings.
Ramirez, 26, had been on the disabled list since mid-April due to inflammation in his right shoulder. He had made five appearances, allowing one run on one hit and three walks with four strikeouts in three innings.
