On Saturday, we learned the Marlins were still hoping Dan Haren would agree to show up at spring training despite his preference to pitch near his home on the West coast. Their hope has been rewarded. Per a report from Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports, Haren will indeed attend spring training with the Marlins.
The Marlins acquired Haren along with Dee Gordon, Miguel Rojas, and cash in a trade last month that sent Andrew Heaney, Enrique Hernandez, Chris Hatcher, and Austin Barnes to the Dodgers.
Haren, 34, will earn $10 million in 2015, but the Dodgers will be paying all of that for the Marlins.
