Diamondbacks sign Oswaldo Arcia

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the Diamondbacks signed outfielder Oswaldo Arcia on Tuesday.

Arcia, 25, spent the 2016 season with four teams: the Twins, Rays, Marlins, and Padres. He racked up a total of 222 plate appearances, batting .203/.270/.366 with eight home runs and 23 RBI. Arcia showed some promise in his first two years in the league with the Twins so the Diamondbacks are hoping he can rediscover that.

It’s still unknown if Arcia’s deal is a major or minor league deal. If it’s a major league deal, Arcia is likely looking at a bench role. If it’s a minor league deal, he will have to perform well in spring to find his way onto the Diamondbacks’ 25-man roster.
