Report: Tigers sign Tyson Ross to one-year, $5.75 million contract

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Tigers have signed free agent pitcher Tyson Ross to a one-year, $5.75 million contract.

Ross, 31, pitched for the Padres and Cardinals last year, putting up an aggregate 4.15 ERA with a 122/62 K/BB ratio in 149 2/3 innings. It was his first full, healthy season since 2015.

The Tigers also recently signed Matt Moore, giving them a glut of starters along with Michael Fulmer, Jordan Zimmermann, Matt Boyd, and Daniel Norris. If Ross doesn’t fit into the rotation, he could also be moved into the bullpen.
