Miguel Sanó and the Minnesota Twins avoided arbitration by agreeing to a three-year contract extension yesterday. The price tag: $30 million.

Sanó hit a career-high 34 homers in just 105 games last season, while posting a line of .247/.346/.576. Last year, in his first season of arbitration eligibility, he made $2.65 million. He was projected to make somewhere in the $5-6 million range if he had gone through arbitration this year.
