The Arizona Diamondbacks and outfielder David Peralta avoided arbitration today and agreeed to a three-year, $22 million contract extension. He can earn $1.25 million more in incentives.
Peralta, 32, was poised to go through his final arbitration and would’ve hit the free agent market next winter, but he’s now locked up through 2022. Peralta played in only 99 games in 2019 due to injury, but hit .275/.343/.461 (OPS+ 106) and won a Gold Glove. The year before he won a Silver Slugger award.
