Twins sign Tyler Clippard

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they’ve signed reliever Tyler Clippard to a one-year, $2.75 million deal.

Clippard spent last year with Cleveland, where he posted a 2.90 ERA in 62 innings over 53 games with a K/BB ratio of 64/15 and some other nice peripherals. Other than the fact that he did not take well to being used as an opener — he gave up five runs in 5.1 innings on three starts — it was one of his better years in some time.

A solid addition to the Twins’ pen.
