Diamondbacks pitcher Robbie Ray strains oblique

The Diamondbacks have been rolling so far this year, but they got some bad news yesterday: starter Robbie Ray exited yesterday’s game in the second inning with a strained right oblique. Ray just threw a pitch and said he felt it catch. He’ll have an MRI today, but he’s going to be on the shelf for a spell.

Ray, who was a breakout star in the Dbacks rotation last year, is 2-0 with a 4.88 ERA in six starts on the season. Figure he’ll miss a few weeks.
