CSNChicago’s Patrck Mooney reports that Willson Contreras should be able to make it back from his strained right hamstring in September.

That’s based on Contreras’s MRI, which he underwent yesterday after leaving Wednesday’s game when he pulled up lame running to first base. Hamstrings are tricky injuries when it comes to giving a good prognosis, especially for a guy who squats for a living, but that’s good news for the Cubs at the moment.

Contreras is hitting .274/.342/.519 with 21 homers and 70 RBI on the year. The Cubs hold a one-game lead in the NL Central over the Cardinals.
