Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports reports that the Giants are meeting with representatives of free agent reliever Aroldis Chapman.

The Giants’ bullpen woes are well-documented, as the club led the majors with 30 blown saves. Relief pitching continued to be a problem in the postseason as the Giants’ bullpen relinquished key runs late in Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS against the Cubs.

Chapman, 28, would be a big-time upgrade for the Giants’ bullpen. The four-time All-Star finished the 2016 season, split between the Yankees and Cubs, with an overall 1.55 ERA and a 90/18 K/BB ratio over 58 innings.
