Settling the Scores: Thursday’s results

Good morning. Not a great morning, at least not here, as I got a late start this morning so I’m leaving you with scores instead of scores and highlights. To be honest, though, I wasn’t going to top yesterday’s Kessel Run observations, so it’s probably not worth trying.

Last night the Angels finally broke their losing streak. The Giants won — Madison Bumgarner hit a homer — and the Dodgers lost, tightening that division to a half game again. The Tigers beat a sleep-deprived Red Sox team, which will likely only encourage silly Boston reporters to believe that the schedule is a conspiracy. At least that’s fun. Kris Bryant hit two homers in a Cubs win. The Indians won on a walkoff sac fly. The Nats won and the Marlins lost to the Reds again, which really punches a hole in that “The Marlins are interesting!” narrative.

Here are the scores:

Tigers 4, Red Sox 3
Cubs 9, Brewers 6
Orioles 13, Astros 5
Phillies 5, Dodgers 4
Indians 5, White Sox 4
Nationals 8, Braves 2
Reds 5, Marlins 4
Royals 8, Twins 1
Angels 6, Mariners 4
Padres 9, Diamondbacks 8
Giants 10, Mets 7
