The Marlins didn’t have much to write home about during Wednesday afternoon’s 1-0 loss to the Giants, but outfielder Ichiro Suzuki went 2-for-4 with a single and a double. In doing so, he broke his tie with Roberto Clemente to take sole possession of 29th on Major League Baseball’s all-time hits leaderboard. He’s now at 3,002.

Suzuki, 42, is hitting .318/.388/.384 over 238 plate appearances. It’s his best offensive showing since 2010 when he was still with the Mariners.

Here’s the single that allowed him to pass Clemente.
