Dodgers second baseman Chase Utley plans to play in 2017, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Utley, a veteran of 14 seasons, turns 38 years old in December, but has hit a passable .250/.327/.379 with eight home runs and 33 RBI in 399 plate appearances this season for the Dodgers. It’s his first full season with the team which acquired him in mid-August last year from the Phillies.

The Dodgers re-signed Utley to a one-year, $7 million contract in December but the club might not be interested in one more go this winter.
