Diamondbacks starter Zack Greinke will be activated from the disabled list to start on Tuesday in New York against the Mets, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports. The Diamondbacks optioned Evan Marshall to Triple-A Reno to create roster space, and Zack Godley will move to the bullpen.

Greinke, 32, has been sidelined since late June with a strained left oblique. He made two rehab starts, one in the Rookie League Diamondbacks and one with Reno. He’ll resume with a 10-3 record, a 3.62 ERA, and a 91/21 K/BB ratio in 109 1/3 innings.

It hasn’t been the year the D-Backs envisioned when they inked Greinke to a six-year, $206.5 million contract this past December.
