Great timing, Yasiel.
Yasiel Puig was removed from this afternoon’s game against the Nationals with an apparent hamstring injury.
Puig was trying to leg out a grounder in the top of the seventh inning but was seen to “crow hop” as he crossed the bag and then went directly into the visitor’s tunnel. Scott Van Slyke took over in right field in the bottom of the seventh.
Puig has been subject to trade rumors of late, with the Dodgers said to both be considering moving him and looking to make a big splash of some sort at the trade deadline, possibly for a top-end starting pitcher. Obviously those two things could go together, with Puig being sent in a package for said pitcher. But not if he’s hurt again.
