Cardinals shortstop Aledmys Diaz replaces Matt Carpenter on the All-Star team

Another hour passes, another snub rectified. This one due to a legit injury to Matt Carpenter, the teammate of the guy added to the team.

That guy added: Cardinals shortstop Aledmys Diaz, who has a great case to be on the All-Star team regardless of any injuries to anyone. He’s hitting .319 with 12 home runs, 44 RBI, 22 doubles, 54 runs scored, a .382 on-base percentage and a .534 slugging percentage as a rookie.  He’s among NL leaders in batting average (6th), runs scored (7th) and doubles (6th). He was a life saver when Jhonny Peralta went down early in the season and ended up moving him over to third base.
