The NHL will soon bring an expansion team in Las Vegas, while the NFL and NBA have continued interest in the city. Major League Baseball is no different. Commissioner Rob Manfred said he “would not disqualify” Vegas one day having a major league team.

In the past, Major League Baseball has been hesitant to consider Vegas because of gambling. Manfred said, “I think the whole, ‘You can’t go to Vegas because there are casinos there,’ we passed that by a long time ago. There’s casinos all over the place. I see Las Vegas as a viable alternative. I would not disqualify it just because of the gambling issue.”

Manfred does take the issue of gambling seriously. As Craig put it, Manfred blasted Rose “to the Stone Age” this past December when he denied the “Hit King” reinstatement.
