Rangers starter Yu Darvish had to exit Wednesday’s start against the Astros after five innings due to tightness in his right shoulder, per Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. It was a precautionary move on the Rangers’ part, and an exam showed no structural issues.

Darvish walked four in the outing, but the Astros weren’t able to capitalize. The right-hander yielded only one run on three hits while striking out seven on 76 pitches. It was his third outing since being activated from the disabled list following a long recovery from Tommy John surgery.

We should hear more about Darvish’s status on Thursday. He’s currently on schedule to face the Athletics on a road start on Monday.
