MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports that the Orioles have made an offer to free agent pitcher Kyle Lohse. He adds that the Tigers and Reds also have interest. However, MLive.com’s Chris Iott isn’t hearing that the Tigers have interest anymore.
Lohse has yet to find a home after spending the last three seasons with the Brewers. In 2016, the 37-year-old right-hander compiled an ugly 5.85 ERA with a 108/43 K/BB ratio in 152 1/3 innings. While there might be some concerns over his age and his poor showing last season, Lohse posted an ERA between 2.86 and 3.54 in each season between 2011-14.
The Orioles are off to an 8-3 start, but are still in need of rotation depth and the veteran Lohse could certainly provide that.
