Shortstop Trevor Story is making the Rockies quickly forget about Troy Tulowitzki and Jose Reyes. The 23-year-old homered again on Sunday, hitting the first of back-to-back solo shots with Carlos Gonzalez, giving him seven round-trippers in his first six games. He didn’t homer on Saturday but has homered in five of six games to begin his career.
Story now has the major league record for home runs hit within his team’s first six games of the season. Larry Walker, Mike Schmidt, and Willie Mays previously held the record with six, as Baseball Tonight points out on Twitter.
