Play of the Day: Ender Inciarte chases down a ball in right-center, doubles off Bryce Harper

Ender Inciarte‘s defense will be one of few bright spots for the Braves this season, as the club is expected to challenge the Phillies for the ignominious honor of being baseball’s worst team. The Braves acquired Inciarte from the Diamondbacks in the Shelby Miller trade this past December. And he might not be a Brave by the August 1 non-waiver trade deadline.

For now, the Braves will enjoy Inciarte while they have him. With Bryce Harper on first base with no outs in the fourth inning of Wednesday’s game against the Nationals, Ryan Zimmerman drove a Bud Norris fastball into the gap in right-center. It looked like a sure double, but Inciarte ran it down and caught it with a dive. He then had the presence of mind to get up and fire a strike to first base to double off Harper.
