Free agent starter Kyle Lohse will hold a showcase in the Phoenix area of Arizona, MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports. He notes that representatives of five teams are expected to attend. And if conditioning is a worry, Heyman adds that Lohse signed with the Brewers in late March three years ago and was ready to go when the regular season began.
Lohse, 37, struggled to a 5.85 ERA with a 108/43 K/BB ratio in 152 1/3 innings last season, by far his worst performance since 2010 with the Cardinals. Between 2011-14, he compiled an aggregate 3.28 ERA over nearly 800 innings.
Given their shaky starting pitching depth, one wonders if the Dodgers might take a flyer on Lohse.
