The Marlins have filed a grievance over the salary of former manager and GM Dan Jennings, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports. Jennings is now a special assistant to Nationals GM Mike Rizzo, and the Marlins believe that the $100,000 salary Jennings is getting from his new team isn’t commensurate with his responsibilities. The Marlins owe him the difference between his new salary and the $1.5 million he would have made if he hadn’t been fired.

Jennings went from the front office to the dugout last season, managing the Marlins to a 55-69 record after Mike Redmond was fired in May.
