Astros catching prospect Tyler Heineman wowed teammates in the Astros’ clubhouse at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Florida with some card tricks, then did the same with the media on Sunday morning. MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart has the story, along with a video in which Heineman demonstrates one of his tricks.

Heineman first started dabbling in magic tricks while playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic. He then watched some lessons on DVD and paid for private lessons from someone he happened to meet after walking into a magic shop. Heineman made clear that his number one focus is on baseball, however.
Heineman, 24, was selected by the Astros in the eighth round of the 2012 draft out of the University of California. He made his first appearance at Triple-A Fresno last season, hitting .271/.312/.370 with three home runs and 25 RBI in 209 plate appearances.
