After the Indians added veterans Mike Napoli and Rajai Davis in recent weeks, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the club has been in touch with free agent infielder Juan Uribe.

If signed, Uribe would share third base duties with Giovanny Urshela. While Urshela is strong defensively, the 24-year-old batted just .225 with six home runs and a .608 OPS over 81 games as a rookie last season.

Uribe played for the Dodgers, Braves, and Mets last season while batting .253/.320/.417 with 14 home runs and 43 RBI over 119 games. Despite going into his age-37 season, he’s still capable of doing some damage. And he seems to be a beloved teammate wherever he goes.
