With Chris Davis expected to land a huge contract in free agency, the Orioles continue to look at possible replacements for their lineup. According to FOX Sports’ Jon Morosi, the club has had trade talks with the Reds for outfielder Jay Bruce. However, there’s “no momentum” toward a deal at the moment.

Bruce was a consistent force at the plate from 2010-2013, but he owns a .695 OPS (90 OPS+) over the past two seasons. His struggles in 2014 were likely partially due to his knee, but he only had a .729 OPS this year thanks to a miserable second half. There’s some buy-low appeal here, but it’s unclear what the Reds’ asking price is.

Bruce, who turns 29 in April, is owed $12.5 million in 2016 and his contract includes a $13 million club option or $1 million buyout for 2017.

The Orioles have also reportedly talked to the Pirates about a deal for second baseman Neil Walker.
