Darren O'Day posted a stellar 1.52 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 82/14 K/BB ratio in 65 1/3 innings this past season for the Orioles and he will be among the most sought-after relievers on the open market this winter.

It probably comes as no surprise that the defending National League champions are interested …

According to Marc Carig of Newsday, the Mets have interest in O’Day, who will probably looking for closer-type money. He’d presumably slide into a setup role behind Jeurys Familia.

The dominance isn’t new for O’Day. He’s proven, having registered a 2.05 ERA and 9.2 K/9 in 197 2/3 innings between 2012-2014.
