Per ESPN’s Adam Rubin, Mets manager Terry Collins said he plans to have Game 4 starter Steven Matz throw 90-95 pitches. As a result, Bartolo Colon — a starter during the regular season — could come out of the bullpen.
Matz has thrown 85 and 76 pitches in his previous two post-season starts, so 90-95 would be a slight increase for him. He threw 100-plus pitches in three of six starts at the big league level during the regular season.
Colon has allowed three runs (two earned) across five relief appearances in the post-season.
