Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada will be ready for spring training, Newsday’s Marc Carig reports. Tejada suffered a broken leg during the NLDS against the Dodgers as a result of a takeout slide by Chase Utley. Carig notes that Tejada will remove his walking boot in a week.
The 26-year-old went hitless in six plate appearances during the post-season after compiling a .688 OPS during the regular season.
Tejada was asked about Utley, and he responded, “I’m happy because we’re here and he’s at home.”
