The Royals advanced to the World Series with a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Blue Jays last night in Game 6 of the ALCS. The difference in the ballgame was Lorenzo Cain scoring all the way from first base on a single from Eric Hosmer in the bottom of the eighth inning. It was a gutsy call by Royals third base coach Mike Jirschele, but he knew Cain’s speed and the decision paid off handsomely.

In case there was any doubt, Cain is fast. And now the Royals are headed to the World Series for the second straight year. Game 1 against the Mets will take place Tuesday night in Kansas City.
