Marcus Stroman threw just seven pitches in the top of the first inning, but the Blue Jays are already down 1-0 to the Royals in Game 3 of the ALCS.

On the second pitch of the game, Alcides Escobar hit a low liner to right field which got away from Jose Bautista after a diving attempt and resulted in a triple. Escobar was then brought home on a ground out from Ben Zobrist. The inning could have been worse, but center fielder Kevin Pillar made a highlight-worthy play to track down a fly ball off the bat of Lorenzo Cain.

Johnny Cueto, who was excellent in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Astros, worked around a two-out walk for a scoreless bottom of the first. He needed 25 pitches to do it, though. We’re headed to the top of the second inning at Rogers Centre.
