Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco took away what would have been Reds starter Keyvius Sampson‘s first career hit and RBI when he fired a throw to first baseman Pedro Alvarez for a 9-3 putout in the second inning. The hit would have extended the Reds’ lead to 3-0 at the time.
