Braves reliever Paco Rodriguez underwent Tommy John surgery on his left elbow a few weeks ago, David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Rodriguez is expected to miss most or all of the 2016 season. O’Brien notes that the Braves have yet to formally announce that Rodriguez had the procedure done.
The Braves acquired Rodriguez from the Dodgers as part of a three-game trade that also involved the Marlins. Rodriguez has been out since late May with the elbow injury. In 10 1/3 innings with the Dodgers, the 24-year-old posted a 2.61 ERA with an 8/3 K/BB ratio.
