Anaheim has won four straight and stands just a half-game back of Houston for the second American League Wild Card entering play Sunday. But it’s a pretty safe bet that the Halos are going to be without their closer the rest of the way.

Huston Street suffered a groin injury while moving to cover third base on a grounder to the left side of the infield Saturday night against the Mariners. Watch the highlight at MLB.com. It looked really, really bad.

Joe Smith, the Angels’ primary setup man, is also currently sidelined with an ankle issue.

Trevor Gott, a 23-year-old rookie, is about to be thrust into a high-leverage role.
