Mariners ace Felix Hernandez was lifted from his last start Sunday against the Rangers with stiffness in his throwing elbow, but there will be no early shutdown.

Seattle manager Lloyd McClendon told MLB.com’s Greg Johns on Wednesday that Hernandez has been cleared to start this Saturday in Anaheim after making it through a side session Tuesday without issue. He’ll try to play spoiler against the Halos, who are still clinging to some hope of a postseason berth after a big 6-5 victory Wednesday afternoon in Houston.

It’s been a relatively disappointing 2015 season for King Felix, who is sitting on a 3.54 ERA, 1.165 WHIP, and 185/56 K/BB ratio through 195 2/3 innings.

The 29-year-old is still owed $107.4 million.
