Drew Hutchison moved to Blue Jays’ bullpen

Drew Hutchison boasts a 13-4 record and 2.91 home ERA this season for the American League East-leading Blue Jays, but the 25-year-old right-hander has been dreadful on the road and will no longer be trusted in a starting role.

MLB.com’s Gregor Chisholm reports that Hutchison has been demoted to the bullpen, where he’s likely to remain through the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. There might be a spot start for him in late September if the Jays clinch early.

Hutchison allowed six earned runs in 3 1/3 innings last Wednesday at Fenway Park and he holds a 9.44 ERA in 12 starts away from Rogers Centre this year.
