Corey Kluber to return from hamstring strain Thursday


Some good news here for the Indians, who can’t be entirely ruled out of the American League Wild Card race at 4 1/2 games back.

Indians manager Terry Francona told Jordan Bastian of on Tuesday that ace right-hander Corey Kluber has been cleared to return to the starting rotation Thursday against the Royals after missing two turns with a strained strained right hamstring. Kluber hasn’t made a start since August 29.

The reigning American League Cy Young Award winner owns a 3.41 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and 219/38 K/BB ratio in 200 1/3 innings (28 starts) this season for Cleveland.
