According to Marc Carig of the New York Daily News, Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen was sent to a hospital for observation due to an accelerated heartbeat.

The NL East-leading Mets are currently in Atlanta for a four-game series against the Braves. Kevin Kernan of the New York Post reports that bullpen coach Ricky Bones will serve as pitching coach for Thursday’s game, weather-permitting.

Warthen, 62, has been the Mets pitching coach since the middle of the 2008 season. Hopefully he’s back to normal soon.
