Jonathan Lucroy out Wednesday with concussion symptoms

Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy was hit on the mask by a foul tip Tuesday night in Miami and he is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday’s series finale at Marlins Park due to concussion-like symptoms.

Adam McCalvy of MLB.com says Lucroy passed an initial cognitive test after Tuesday’s game but showed up at the visitors clubhouse Wednesday afternoon “feeling lousy.”

Nevin Ashley is getting his first major league start at catcher on Wednesday night against the Marlins. Martin Maldonado will then start Thursday’s series opener versus the Pirates.

Lucroy could be sidelined through the weekend.
