Mets activate Lucas Duda from the disabled list

Mets first baseman Lucas Duda is off the disabled list and on the active roster after missing the past two-plus weeks with a back injury, but he’s not in the starting lineup for today’s game against the Nationals.

Duda is available off the bench this afternoon and then figures to resume starting nearly every day down the stretch at first base after hitting .247 with 21 homers and an .818 OPS in 113 games before the injury.

In his absence the Mets used four different players at first base, with Daniel Murphy and Michael Cuddyer seeing most of the action. Duda ranks second on the Mets in homers and leads the team in OPS among hitters with at least 200 plate appearances.
