Giants released Everth Cabrera. He hit .231 for River Cats.

Cabrera signed a minor league deal with San Francisco in mid-July after getting released by the Orioles. He looked like a promising young shortstop in 2009 when he posted a .342 on-base percentage and 25 stolen bases in 103 games with the Padres, but Cabrera is now 28 years old with no organization to call home and a long list of off-field transgressions. It could be a struggle for him to make it back to the major leagues.
