It was announced on Friday night that Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully would return in 2016 for his 67th year of broadcasting. He plans to retire after next season, as Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
Scully said, “I would be saying ‘Dear God — if you give me next year’.” He added, “I would say realistically, next year is my last one . … I do feel in my bones that will be enough.”
Scully won the Ford C. Frick Award in 1982. The award, given out by the Hall of Fame, honors broadcasters for “major contributions to baseball”.
