The Braves picked up a well-travelled veteran:
Braves sign free-agent RHP Edwin Jackson (@EJ36) to Major League contract for the remainder of the 2015 season. Jackson will wear number 34
— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) August 14, 2015
Jackson joins his ninth team in 13 seasons.
He was awful as a starter for the Cubs over the past three seasons, but he was at least halfway serviceable as a reliever this year, with a 3.19 ERA and 23/12 K/BB ratio in 31 innings. The Braves will use him that way, one assumes. And they won’t have to pay him $52 million to do it like the Cubs did.
