The good news is that his surgically-repaired right elbow is fine, and so is his right shoulder. But it’s going to a little while before we see Jose Fernandez pitching again for the Marlins …
Jose Fernandez has a right bicep strain, almost certain DL, no timetable on return. #marlins

Fernandez was lifted at 76 pitches Friday against the Braves and flew back to Miami on Saturday to have his arm examined. He just returned last month from Tommy John elbow surgery and it seems probable that the Marlins will go ahead and shut him down for the rest of the season even if he progresses well from this biceps issue. They entered play Sunday with a 43-68 record — tied with the Phillies for the worst mark in MLB.
Fernandez, 23, owns a ridiculous 2.26 ERA and 10.4 K/9 over 267 1/3 career major league innings.
