Padres pitcher Brandon Morrow will see Dr. Neal ElAttrache this week to get a second opinion on his right shoulder. He felt shoulder discomfort and was scratched from Thursday’s rehab start with Triple-A El Paso.
Morrow, 31, has made only 21 starts over the last three seasons, as he’s been unable to stay healthy. The Padres took a gamble, signing him to a one-year, $2.5 million contract in December, but it didn’t work out. Morrow did pitch well in five starts, posting a 2.73 ERA with a 23/7 K/BB ratio in 33 innings.
