Corey Dickerson lands on disabled list with fractured ribs

Rockies outfielder Corey Dickerson has already had a frustrating year on the injury front and now he has another issue to deal with, as Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports that he’s headed to the disabled list with non-displaced fractures of two ribs on his right side.

Dickerson suffered the injury while diving for a line drive off the bat of Jason Heyward during Thursday’s game against the Cardinals. He was originally diagnosed with a rib contusion, but the fractures were found after an MRI. There’s no clear timetable for his return.

Dickerson has already been on the disabled list twice this season due to nagging plantar fasciitis in his left foot and just rejoined the Rockies last Friday. The 26-year-old has been limited 43 games while batting .315 with five home runs and an .853 OPS.
