UPDATE: Pineda has been placed on the disabled list with what the Yankees are calling a right flexor forearm muscle strain.
==========
Yankees right-hander Michael Pineda has been scratched from tonight’s scheduled start with a forearm injury, according to Marly Rivera of ESPN Deportes.
Pineda began the season 5-0 with a 2.72 ERA, but has a 4.77 ERA in his last 12 starts dating back to mid-May. He also has a lengthy history of arm problems, missing all of 2012 and 2013, so there’s a lot of reason to worry.
His most recent start was Friday against the Twins and Pineda struggled, allowing five runs on eight hits in 5.2 innings.
