Stephen Strasburg will start a rehab assignment next week

Nationals starter Stephen Strasburg is set to begin a rehab assignment next week,  James Wagner of the Washington Post reports. The right-hander has been out since his July 4 start against the Giants due to an oblique injury. It’s not yet known how many appearances Strasburg will need to make before returning to the rotation.

Strasburg hasn’t had a good 2015 season. He was on the disabled list earlier this season as well due to a trapezius injury, and has made only 13 starts this season as a result. In 61 innings, he has a disappointing 5.16 ERA with a 63/18 K/BB ratio. Strasburg has been able to complete six-plus innings only three times.
