The Braves traded for a reliever from the Astros’ system

Not a major trade by any stretch of the imagination, but it’s not like anything else is going on: David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Braves have traded cash considerations to the Houston Astros for minor league reliever Mitchell Lambson.

Lambson, a 24-year-old lefty has a 2.60 ERA in 24 appearances this season across Double-A and Triple-A, with 30/9 K/BB ratio in 34 and two-thirds innings. He is a 19th round pick from 2011, having pitched at Arizona State before becoming a pro.

A lefty with decent strikeout rates in the low-minors isn’t a bad flier. Especially when all you have to give up for him is some cash.
