Eric Surkamp was supposed to start for Triple-A Oklahoma City — the Dodgers’ minor league affiliate — but was scratched, per MLB.com’s Ken Gurnick. Nothing has been announced yet, but it looks like Surkamp will start for the Dodgers on Monday in place of the injured Carlos Frias.
The Dodgers acquired Surkamp from the White Sox in May. In 34 innings across six starts and one relief appearance with Oklahoma City, the lefty has a 4.50 ERA with a 26/11 K/BB ratio.
Frias was placed on the disabled list Sunday, retroactive to July 1 due to tightness in his lower back.
